Vitamina de Banana
Vitamina de Banana is a creamy, chilled Brazilian banana smoothie with a naturally sweet flavor and a comforting touch of cinnamon. The oats give it extra body, making it more satisfying than a standard milkshake-like fruit drink.
Ingredients
Batida
- 2 medium (about 240 g peeled)ripe bananas
- 400 mlcold whole milk
- 30 grolled oats
- 20 ghoney
- 1 gground cinnamon
- 80 gice cubes
To serve
- 1 pinchground cinnamon
Instructions
- 1
Peel the bananas and break them into chunks so they blend quickly and evenly. If your bananas are not very ripe, taste and be ready to add a little more honey after blending.
- 2
Add the banana chunks, cold whole milk, rolled oats, honey, ground cinnamon, and ice cubes to a blender. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, until completely smooth and thick. If the drink seems too thick for your blender, pause, stir once, and blend again with a small splash more milk.
- 3
Taste the vitamina. It should be naturally sweet, creamy, and lightly spiced; if needed, blend for a few seconds more to fully break down the oats.
- 4
Pour into 2 glasses, finish with a pinch of ground cinnamon, and serve immediately while cold and frothy.

Notes
- •For the best flavor, use very ripe bananas with plenty of brown speckles.
- •For a thicker vitamina, freeze the banana pieces in advance and reduce the ice slightly.
- •If you prefer a lighter texture, use 350 ml milk first and add more only as needed.
- •This drink is best served immediately, as the oats continue to absorb liquid and thicken it over time.
Background
Vitamina is a popular Brazilian blended drink made with fruit and milk, often enjoyed for breakfast or as an afternoon snack. Banana versions are especially common because they are inexpensive, filling, and naturally sweet. Oats are a frequent addition in home-style preparations to make the drink more substantial.
