Vitamina de Guarana
Vitamina de Guarana is a creamy, icy Brazilian fruit drink with a distinctive tangy-fruity flavor from guarana balanced by sweet banana and rich condensed milk. Blended until frothy and smooth, it is refreshing, lightly energizing, and especially good served very cold.
Ingredients
Batida de guarana
- 200 gguarana fruit pulp, chilled
- 120 gripe banana, peeled and sliced
- 80 gsweetened condensed milk
- 250 mlcold whole milk
- 120 gice cubes
To serve
- 20 gbanana slices
Instructions
- 1
Slice the banana and chill the serving glasses if you want the drink to stay frosty longer. If the guarana pulp is frozen, let it soften just enough to blend smoothly.
- 2
Add the guarana pulp, sliced banana, condensed milk, cold milk, and ice cubes to a blender.
- 3
Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds until completely smooth, creamy, and lightly foamy. If it seems too thick to move freely in the blender, add a small splash of extra milk; if too thin, blend in a little more ice.
- 4
Taste and adjust only if needed: a riper banana will make the vitamina naturally sweeter, while colder ingredients give the best thick texture.
- 5
Pour immediately into 2 glasses, garnish with the banana slices, and serve at once before the ice melts and the foam settles.

Notes
- •For the most authentic flavor, use unsweetened guarana pulp rather than guarana soda or syrup.
- •A very ripe banana gives better body and sweetness, reducing the need for extra condensed milk.
- •For a thicker smoothie, freeze the banana slices for 20 to 30 minutes in advance, though this is optional and not included in the total time.
- •Serve immediately; separation and thinning happen quickly as the ice melts.
Background
Vitamina is a popular Brazilian style of fruit smoothie, commonly made with milk and fresh tropical fruit. In northern Brazil, guarana has long been valued as both a flavorful fruit and a stimulating ingredient, and blending its pulp into a creamy drink is a natural extension of regional food traditions. Sweetened condensed milk is also widely used in Brazilian home drinks and desserts for richness and sweetness.
