Agua de Limon
Agua de Limon is a bright, thirst-quenching lime drink with a clean citrus snap and just enough sweetness to round it out. Served ice-cold with fresh mint, it is simple, fragrant, and deeply refreshing.
Ingredients
Limonada
- 120 mlfresh lime juice
- 600 mlcold water
- 50 gwhite sugar
- 200 gice cubes
- 6 gfresh mint leaves
- 4 sliceslime slices
Instructions
- 1
Juice the limes if needed to yield 120 ml fresh lime juice. Pick the mint leaves from the stems and lightly clap them between your hands to release their aroma without tearing them too much.
- 2
In a pitcher, combine the cold water and white sugar. Stir vigorously for 1-2 minutes until the sugar is fully dissolved; the drink should look clear, not grainy at the bottom.
- 3
Stir in the fresh lime juice. Taste and adjust with a splash more water if you prefer it less tart, but keep the balance bright and refreshing.
- 4
Add most of the ice cubes and most of the mint leaves to the pitcher, reserving a little of each for the glasses. Stir briefly so the mint lightly perfumes the drink.
- 5
Pour into 2 glasses over the remaining ice. Garnish each glass with lime slices and the reserved mint, then serve immediately while very cold.

Notes
- •For the cleanest flavor, use freshly squeezed lime juice rather than bottled juice.
- •If your limes are very acidic, increase the sugar by 5-10 g to balance the drink.
- •For a smoother texture, strain the lime juice before mixing.
- •Chill the water beforehand so the drink stays cold without diluting too quickly.
